Oil/gas well help

Is there any site online that has up to date information about current producing wells with locations and planned wells in Roger Mills County Oklahoma?

Thanks

Richard

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission’s web site would be about it. You can look at permits, completions, orders and applications and put it all together. “Up-to-date” would be the question. All of it will be pretty up-to-date with the exception of the completion reports. Either the companies are slow to report the completions or the OCC is slow to post them. I’d guess the reporting side of it.

Outside of that, there are some subscription services that provide the data, or some consultants that can provide it. The subscription services are cost prohibitive for occasional use.

In the business section of The Daily Oklahoman newspaper is reasonably good reporting of well completions and intent to drill permitting in Oklahoma. If you have a subscription to the newspaper and therefore electronic access to archived well information, try typing in their archive browser "Roger Mills county completion intent". Another pretty good source is the Cheyenne Star, a small weekly newspaper in Cheyenne, OK. A company called Arrowhead usually publishes completion, spud, and intent reports in that newspaper for Roger Mills, Ellis, and Dewey counties. I'm not sure whether that newspaper is available electronically. The OCC site is the basic "go to" info source but sometimes their information is a little dated. If you need help downloading the required software for the OCC site, just call their tech help number and nice people will help you.

Thanks for this suggestion. I am in Chicago and it is hard to understand the processes and timing for our Roger Mills property which apparently is currently producing as of December. The OK Corp Comm website is not informative until the division orders are finished I guess because it shows nothing. I'll try to get an electronic access to the paper if you think that helps. Thanks again.

In mineralrights forum under groups are listed counties. Go to Oklahoma, Roger Mills and look around. Someone has been posting current info. This would be the simplest, easiest, cheapest way to get info.

Nor,

The Daily Oklahoma postings are pretty late. But they are available without a subscription on Newsok.com Go to business – energy and the drilling reports. (http://newsok.com/business/energy) As an example, the first intent to drill in Roger Mills posted in todays paper, the Frankfother No 1-20, was posted on OCCs site on 3/20/2013. So they are about a month out.

Tulsa world is quicker to publish. They published the same record on April 2 2013. http://www.tulsaworld.com/site/printerfriendlystory.aspx?articleid=20130402_49_E4_hThurs720892

You can search here:

It takes a bit to get used to but it is all there

Hang on and I’ll find some info I posted on it once before.

Using OCC e web to search for drilling activity in your area.

(note Roger Mills Co is county Code 129)

There are some instructions here that might be more confusing.

It is pretty powerful using multiple fields to filter with a combination of a wildcard character. You can search all of the new permits by placing a date range.

If you look at all the records for 1/1/2013-3/8/2013 you will get 6700 documents.
The API number used (state code of 50 is stripped) starts with a county code. You can limit it to Caddo county by placing 015% in the API field. So now you get 138 documents.

If you want to look at a section, enter it in the legal description 2709N09W you get 1 document.

You can open it up to the township. (all 9N-9W) use %09N09W 2 documents

Go back to the Caddo county API= %015 (clear the legal) you have 57 again

If you only want to see the permits, use form 1000, spuds = 1001a, completion = 1002a

I filter on district 3 because it covers the primary counties I am interested in such as Carter, Caddo, Stephens, Grady, Garvin, McClain. That drops the records from 6700 to 1500 on the above date range.

The wildcard % is pretty powerful used with the other filters.

Here are the county and district codes
