Why is a company so interested in leasing land with a nonprofitable well? When the well was drilled there was oil. However, it was not making enough to service it. Therefore, it was abandoned I guess. However, I signed a lease for $400 an acre 1 year ago for horizontal drilling on the same quarter. I am getting an offer to buy my minerals every week; it is up to $10,500 for 20 acres. Why are they so interested? The well is just northeast of Bison.
It is hard to say not knowing where it is. Need legal.
