Is anyone familiar with Desert Royalty Company? I received an offer to purchase my mineral interest. No one contacted me by phone, just received this in the mail. My mineral rights are located in Houston County/Survey: Morriss, B.
Thank you

Hey, Marbles!
I have heard of them, but don't know anything in particular about them.
There are hundreds of companies making offers to buy minerals and royalties all over the country. The best way to learn as much as you can about one particular one would be to Google them or find their website.
I just took a look at your Survey on the DrillingInfo website. There are quite a few active leases in it (leases within their primary term) and some drilling in the Southern part of it and to the Southwest of it (Horizontal Wells into the Buda and Georgetown formations), none of them struck me as particularly productive.
Don't know why they want to buy your interests. Maybe they know that somebody is going to drill it soon.
My advice would be to never sell your minerals, unless you had some sort of medical emergency or need money for college or something. At any rate, to hold off for a little while - they may come back with a better offer.
Hope this helps -

Thank you Mr. Tooke.
I will take your advise to hold onto my rights. I appreciate that you took time to check about that activity around the area.
Cheers!

You're welcome.
You will probably be receiving offers of other companies as well.
