Odds of drilling

How likely is it that Rose City will drill on our tract located in A-1086. Hoping that our lease expires with no action and we can terminate.

Yet I’m worried as there’s a dry hole just up the road.

Any help on what to expect for the next three years? Will they come do testing? Cut the trees? Build a road? The lease says they’re allowed to do pretty much everything.

They can’t do any of that without consultation with you first. Although surface rights are inferior to the mineral estate, there are plenty of surface owner protections that must be met first.

Not sure how far up the road is? But if a dry hole was recently drilled “next” to you, the odds of a company coming back in and running more seismic tests (think thats what you are referring to) are slim to none.

It’s about 2 miles or so. Not sure how old the dry hole is as the API is 0

I just worry since the lease language specifies they have all rights to ‘ingress and egress’ and to erect whatever they deem ‘reasonably necessary’. The only protections it offers are ‘200 ft’ from any home or barn.
