The executive rights means that person gets to make the decisions to lease, not lease, etc. If you have non-executive rights, you get the royalties but may or may not get the bonus (depending upon how the deed was written). In ours, we do not get the bonus, but do get the royalties.
Often happened back a generation or so ago. Dad would deed the mineral rights after his death to the children, but give one of them more power than the others.
