Clint, I have this section (not sure if leased or not)…what does well spud mean? and should I have a lease on this if it means they are preparing to drill or get a permit to drill?

Well spud means the exact day drilling began on the well in question. Yes, you should be leased unless the oil company/producer has forced pooled you (if drilling has begun on your mineral rights).
