Newly inherited mineral rights

My family has rights in Grady County Section 24, Township 7 North, Range 5 West due to the passing of a family member. Since we started trying to figure things out we have been contacted by a couple buyers with offers. We don’t want to do anything we might regret. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences for the passing of your family member. Do not accept any offers until you understand what you have and finish the probate for the estate. You have several horizontal wells in that section which will need to be passed onto the heirs by contacting the operator and giving them the documents they require. You may have other mineral rights. You need to also check for any unclaimed funds in the states where the deceased lived. The buyers want the royalties from the wells. That section has room for more infill wells. Continental is the Operator. Take your time and get your affairs in order. Find out if the deceased has any other records pertaining to oil and gas rights.

Don’t do it. You may not be getting a lot of money, but it money from heaven. Each time a check comes in the mail I say: “Thank you Mother”. We dont know when there may be a find of more oil, or the prices go up leading to a bigger check. Just enjoy your free money. If someone wants to buy your shares, they know there’s money to be made from your holdings. Take care

I have a property adjoining you in 7N-4W as well as a few other properties in this immediate area.. There is an Osborn play that is starting to develop in this area, You should be cautious with any decision at this point
