I have 20 acres in White County, Arkansas where I have surface and mineral rights and have been asked if I would like a well on my property. Can anyone tell me approximately how much compensation is being paid to surface owners to locate a well and about how much land is taken?
I have minerals located in Conway County. I have been told by some of the folks in this area that $5,000/acre is the going rate, but I do not know firsthand. Since multiple wells are being drilled off one pad, as much as 7-8 acres are being used sometimes. Also, the latest bonus for the minerals I have heard about is $1,600-2,000/acre and 1/5 royalty.
