I have heard that there is a well in NW Mitchell County producing 13,000 BBL per month. Does anyone know about production in that area.
There are over 10,000 wells in Mitchell county, so you would have to be a bit more specific. Do you know whether the well is horizontal or vertical, how old, etc.
This is most probably one of the new Bayswater Hz wells drilled in the far NW part of the county. Pushing the Hz Wolfcamp trend eastward from NW Howard County.
25-26 Hz wells permitted here in the past 12-24 months - 2.5 to 3 mile long laterals
Bayswater has a whole set of Egyptian themed horizontal wells in the NW quarter. Block 20, 25, 26, 29 1N, 97 1N. These are doing much better than vertical wells. Some of them peaked at over 30,000 BOPMonth, but have naturally declined to less over time. Production depends upon the length of the wells, two-sections or three-sections.

Thanks everyone. My great aunt had .03121875 Royalty Interest in “Block 28, T-1-N, T&P Ry Co Surveys, Mitchell County, Texas, commonly known as Majestic Petroleum Corporation, East Westbrook Unit.” But I have not had the opportunity to pursue any of that since finding her will in 2013.
Gary, thanks for that more detailed location info. Your area is located 8-10 miles east / southeast of the aforementioned Bayswater Hz permitting and drilling.
No new permits or Hz drilling in Block 28 T-1-N.
