I have a lease in Dawson County and a new Lateral was drilled with 1/3 acres of the lease
allocated. The well started producing and oil sold in December 2024 per the State Comptrollers report. I have been trying to get a Division order and payment since the law states payment must be made in 120 days and 60 days thereafter and still do not have the correct DO.
What can I do?
Send a certified letter return receipt to the Division Order department of the operator demanding payment with statutory interest and that usually gets their attention. Give your name, address, description of acreage and the well name. Sometimes that moves you up on their “to do” list. It also starts a mandatory clock in Texas. Keep a copy of everything that you send.
