New Investor - Seeking Mentor

Hey all,

I’m new to mineral rights investing and I’m looking at a small 2.75 NMA unleased tract in Washita County, OK listed on MineralHub. I’m serious about getting into the game long term and want to learn the right way to vet deals, understand title issues, negotiate leases, and manage risk.

I’d really appreciate connecting with someone who’s bought mineral rights personally and could offer some mentorship or just answer a few questions. Currently in the military and formerly worked in logistics and housing—now pivoting into investing and building generational wealth.

Thanks in advance for your time and any guidance!

Welcome to the forum.

I do not buy nor sell, so others can comment on strategy from that point of view. This is a very complex industry and learning about the title issues, leases, risk, deals, etc. requires specialized knowledge.

There was a recent thread on the forum about buying acreage for a newbie. Use the magnifying glass for the words “next generation” Jan 28 post that received some useful feedback.

Thanks for reaching out. I will take a look.
