Has anyone been getting offers on new deep well lease from Continental Resources in Pecos County? Please let me know of any information on this.
You do realize that Pecos county Texas is about 13000 sq miles and a section is usually about 640 acres or 1sq mile? Based on your description, A Blk#, Township# section#, or API# is the best way to tell you what is going on. MK
Need your block name or number, Abstract name and number, plus the section to be able to locate your area in Pecos.
What location?
Section 19 blk 8
Continental already has horizontals in section 19, Block 8. They have new permits just to the SW in 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18.
Deep well lease.
Leases.
Are you already getting royalties from section 19? Did you have a depth clause on the first lease?
I have seen some permits west of you in Reeves S 17 B C-5 a5482. In the Woodward formation TD 14673. And this section has earlier wells completed that are around 11000 ft. Perhaps the mineral holders received a second lease payment for the deeper wells? I have also seen some of these on University Lands in Winkler County.
My family has interest in Sec 38, Blk 8. They signed a lease with Continental for deep rights to drill Woodford/Barnett shale. Signed the lease late last year. Don’t recall how the sections lay out so yours may or may not be contiguous or close.
