Need help correcting ownership of a BLM lease in Eddy Co NM

We need someone to prepare and file a curative BLM Form 3000-3 assignment to clean up a historical chain of family transfers (via letters, trusts, partnerships, and gift tax return from 1962 onward) that were never recorded at the BLM. At least that is what I currently think. A professional might be able to suggest another path to fixing this issue and getting this thing sold.

The non producing BLM lease involved, which no one paid attention to for 60 years, has suddenly become very valuable. The record title owner in the BLM records (last updated 60 years ago) has recently died and their estate is in probate.

Thinking through how to do this right is making our heads explode. But we are certain that the tax consequences of doing it wrong are shocking.

Very experienced, well paid professional help is required.

Any attorneys or CPAs you’ve used successfully for similar curative BLM filings in New Mexico?

Thanks for your ideas.
