I personally own a out 200 acres of mineral rights in multiple different townships and ranges in Pittsburg County Oklahoma and Latimer County Oklahoma. I’ve considered selling all I own but not sure what the value is. In total I hold fractional interest in over 30 different sections, mostly township 7 North Range 16 East in Pittsburg County Oklahoma as well as township 4 North Range 15 East and 8 North Range 16 East and 6 North Range 17 East. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The Directories tab above has several appraisal groups. Pecan Tree does west of the Mississippi.
There are several online auction sites that you might contact. An internet search will give names. That area is not particularly hot at the moment. It certainly had its drilling in the past. Make sure that you have tracked down all of your current royalties and any unclaimed funds before starting a sale or you will lose them.
Thank you so much for this guidance, Ms. Barnes. I will definitely look into the Directories tab and check out Pecan Tree.
To be completely transparent, I am incredibly new to this, feel a bit out of my depth, and don’t want to make a costly mistake. I own fractional interests across multiple sections in Pittsburg and Latimer Counties, and because I’m not fully educated on the process, I really want to make sure I protect myself and don’t leave anything on the table.
Since you are a veteran educator in this space, what steps would you recommend I take next to ensure any potential sale or valuation is handled completely safely? If there are specific trusted advisors, appraisers, or resources you recommend a beginner look into to avoid getting taken advantage of, I would deeply appreciate your guidance.
If anyone would be interested in buying my mineral rights I would be to speak about it . Thank yo.
The forum does not allow direct solicitation, so buyers are not allowed to contact you that way. The directories tab above has vetted buyers listed and you may also see banners with their names. You would have to contact them outside of the forum to get a bid. It is always good to get several bids to test the market. They will most likely charge a fee.
