Allen Gilmer, DrillingInfo CEO, made a presentation at last month's NARO-Texas convention regarding all the oil and gas plays around Texas. Of course, the Eagle Ford and Permian Basin plays dominated the presentation, but he did make a brief, favorable comment about the Moore County region.
The Granite Wash formation runs across the Panhandle and through Moore County. Drillers are apparently working their way up the Wash from the center of the activity on the TX/OK border toward Moore County. It seems like this geological formation follows the Canadian River.
