I have a deed for mineral rights in Richland County, MT, including T25N, R56E, spanning several sections/quadrants.
I contacted Continental Resources to inquire about planned activities in the area and provided a list of my properties (T/R/sections/quadrants) for reference, as well as references to book and page the deed was filed under in the county recorders office.
In the response from Continental (which took 3 months to receive), I was informed that several sections from my lease did not show up in the landmans ownership report for the section.
Additional info: Probate for the family minerals in Richland County was completed in 2018, but the missing tracts are not listed there. Yet they are on the deed my mother held at the time, and on my deed when the mineral rights were transferred to me in 2024.
What could be underlying reasons for my ownership not coming up in the landman’s search, and how should I proceed to both refute findings in this case and ensure that my ownership shows up in future searches?
Thanks in advance for insights!
