I am getting offers from Vector Energy concerning mineral rights I own. The operator is Diversified Energy and the unit name is Holloway “A” in Freestone & Leon county. Does anyone have any info on this?
If those are offers to buy, then find out more before making a decision. The block, abstract and section would be more helpful to getting an answer. Old shallow units are often bought up because of pending horizontal drilling underneath.
All I can find is A59 DB Brooks
NEVER sell be patient. This is a huge natural gas play.
The Holloway “A” #4 is in Leon in Abstract A-58 just on the border with A-59 which is in Freestone. The D B Brooks Block crosses the county line.

There is leasing all around you. Mostly by Comstock. They are putting a huge play together. You are probably held by the lease that goes with the Holloway #4 well, so you cannot be leased again. It is a gas well with a bit left to give.
Comstock had a horizontal well permitted about 1.5 miles just to the north of you. It was spud 11/5/24. Not listed as completed yet. That is probably why you are getting interest. The increasing offers are indicative of the interest in the area. You can choose to sit tight and see what happens as horizontal wells can be much more lucrative than vertical wells. You can sell if you get the right price. Or you can sell some and hold some.
Never sell your minerals more specifically if they are coming to you. They know its more money worth of natural gas than they will pay you. Plus you lose your rights on these wells they will drill.
You have now been introduced to “New Age” mineral buyers. The fire out shotgun offers, hope for a response, and then try to figure out the validity of their offer if you respond.
Comstock’s Freestone County well, the Olajuwon 1H, was discussed during their Q1 2025 earnings conference call yesterday. The well went into production in April, and tested at 41,000 MCF, indicating it is a really good well. This well is located 24 miles away from their nearest prior well, so Comstock has now “proven” an area that stretches 45 miles from Robertson into Freestone. The well is in the middle of a 30-mile wide area that Comstock has leased.
It was stated during the call that Comstock plans to drill a two-well pad in the same area during Q4 2025, and they plan to drill eight wells in the area during 2026.
