If you have producing property in Montague, TX, be aware that proposed taxes for 2022 will be considerably more. My tax notice was 4.5 times more than 2021. After a visit with the taxing district, they told me I was lucky, many royalty owners were appraised a 7 times or more. Don’t know if protesting will be of any use, but I will be submitting the protest papers they provided.
