Montague County, TX - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Sorry, forgot to mention that the well is Lue A 1h.

I just got a corrected 2015 Montague Co tax appraisal which made my taxes go up 5 times what I paid last year. Looks like it's based on 2 Kieschnick units (1H & 2H) with EOG. I don't have a lease nor have I received any royalty. Anyone know where these are located? The legal says A-323 Howard A W; RRC 27888; API 42-337-35247; Railroad #273888. Also, does anyone have a specific contact with EOG other than what's listed on the website for me to contact to find out if they have the wrong owner number or if they owe me back royalties? Thanks for any help!

Thanks so much for the info Clint. I guess I'll just call EOG tomorrow and see what I can figure out.

Breitburn has filed bankruptcy. My question is —do I file a claim if I am a royalty owner? I just received a pretty complicated pack of legal papers requesting that I file a claim and provide proof of my claim. Would a check stub be proof? …But it is not clear if I need to if I’m a royalty owner. Anyone one have a clue?

Have just had an offer from Tomahawk Land resources for mineral rights located near Nocona , Texas. We own 160 acres mineral rights only . They are offering a five year lease with $100 per acre/1/8 royalty, $50 per acre/3/16 , or no bonus 1/5 . Does anyone know what is going on out there ?

Kathryn,

I will say those are very lowball numbers they are throwing at you. We will need to know the Section, Block and/or Abstract number to be able to give you some help. Location in the County can make a difference.

Part of Olabarri Survey ,Abstract 579, all of block 171 of the John H Belcher Subdivision , according to pg 638 Deed records Montague County. We had 3 wells drilled on the area from 1940-2000 but they must have dried up because the Leasor relinquihed the lease to us then. Company says they want to drill a horizontal well using our property and some other lands contiguos .

If you own minerals in Texas or New Mexico, consider attending the NARO – Texas convention in San Antonio July 18-20, 2018. They have a great agenda, good speakers, and the cost is reasonable. This year also includes a special session for New Mexico mineral owners. The current agenda draft is attached, and a link to their signup and information page is http://www.naro-us.org/event-2824234
