Money in suspense with Contango/Pakenergy

Hey Everyone! I need some insight on how to go about getting Contango to pay me the money they have in suspense. I have no clue how much it is. I only know they contacted us about money being held in suspense for my late mother. I went through their hoops and provided documents and signed a division order…all of it. Now for the past 3 months they (their 3rd party that handles owner relations PakEnergy) keep telling me the money held in suspense should be paid out “with the end of the month revenue run” yet it never comes. They hang up on me on the phone even though I am being professional (irritated but professional.) I don’t even have a clue how much money they are talking about. I have an owner number, venture name, effective dates, interest type, NRI etc. I don’t know what to do with any of it. Does anyone have any experience in this or suggestions for me? Thanks!!

Depending on how backed up they are, it can take many months to get funds released. Look to see if you have contact information for the Division Order Analyst and try to start an email thread with them.

I feel like it has taken many months. First contact with them was in Aug. 2024. I got the division order paperwork in Mid-March 2025 and returned it, signed, along with other tax paperwork, the same day. So it has been almost 3 months since all the paperwork was squared away. I just don’t get what the hold up is about. I wish I knew how much money it was so I could just know and sort of forget about it. Thanks for the response.

It might be a good idea to send a certified letter return receipt demanding payment and statutory interest. Document your contact timeline starting back in August. Sometimes, that moves you further up the “to do” list.

If you submitted in March, then May would have been the earliest distribution. Given the Aug to March for DO’s, then you should expect first distribution to take a few months. SOP has changed a great deal over the years with the introduction of new owner relation models and contract operations.

I guess I will just try to be patient.

Maintain an email thread so that it is obvious to Owner Relations or the DOA that you have been patiently working to a resolution. You will surprised how this can move you up in the Q.
