I have been asked about brine rights, how much are they worth, is there leasing etc like oil & gas, etc. It is starting to come up more and more.
A brine lease applies to the Surface Owner’s rights to the salt below the surface. The lease is negotiated with the surface owner and is similar to a disposal agreement.
Thank you both, Earl hit it on the head, they would be drilling for the saltwater below.
Looks like some possible good news. Hopefully we will see some new lease activity soon. https://www.usgs.gov/news/usgs-estimates-20-billion-barrels-oil-texas-basin
We have 240 acres in Dawson County for lease, there are 4 of us. It is in Section 35, Block 2, Township 4 North. We do not want to sell, just lease. Contact me on here or at marc.rogers33@yahoo.com. Thank you.
With oil prices approaching $60 a barrel, I wonder if anyone in Mitchell County (especially the northeastern part of the county) is receiving offers from oil companies for leasing.

The following is a sponsored (paid) promotional notice:
If you own minerals in Texas or New Mexico, consider attending the NARO – Texas convention in San Antonio July 18-20, 2018. They have a great agenda, good speakers, and the cost is reasonable. This year also includes a special session for New Mexico mineral owners. The current agenda draft is attached, and a link to their signup and information page is NARO - National Association of Royalty Owners - Authorization required
