Last month I recieved my royalty check from my oil company, and they withheld money based on an audit stating that in 2006 I was overpaid for production. I was wondering how long can an oil company go back on me for liability?
I wrote the oil company a letter requesting the audit and a detailed report of future plans for drilling on my lease and an analysis of the hydrocarbons on it. How long does the company have to respond to my request or do they have to?
