is there any way to get the company that leases my mineral rights to do the well repair to continue pumping oil? they say it is too costly ?
Basically no, you cannot make them unless you have some exceptionally well worded clause in your lease. Operators are in business to make money. If it is economic to fix the well, it is in their best interests as well as yours. But if they are going to lose money on the well and the potential royalties will not pay for the repairs, then they will not fix it. Same idea as a clunker car. At some point, it just isn’t worth the trouble and expense to fix it.
