I am a newbie at this and tried to send this before so this may be a repeat.
I have been offered a lease for mineral rights in Fergus County. Since I am not in the business or the area I have no idea if this is a reasonable offer or not.
The key items of the lease are an offer of $5.00 per acre for the first 5 years and an option at $10.00 per acre for an additional 5 years. The royalty offered is 1/8 or 12.5%.
I believe there is no current activity in the area and that this is an attempt to assemble a package of leases that will attract some driller to come in and drill.
Any informed reply would be welcome.
