Mineral Rights Only

I am new to this.Ihave a question on mineral rights only.My mother inherited royalty rights from her mom.I knew nothing about this until i was connected by some land guy.I am trying to locate this property in grady county,Oklahoma. And could someone please explain this legal description of this land and how many acres is it. S /2 SE/4 SE/4 AND SW/4,SE/4 and S/2,NW/4,SE/4 and SW/4,NE/4,SE/4 and NW/4,SE/4,SE/4 Section 8,Township 6 North,Range 5 West, Grady County ,Oklahoma and; W/2 SE/4 Section 36,Township 7 North, Range 5 West. please help me

8-6N-5W is near Alex Road about 3 miles south of highway 39. (3 miles south of about the halfway point between Chickasha and Dibble.) Two wells are there you should be seeing income from Beutler Trust 1-8H, and the Carr Trust 1-8.

36-7N-5W is just west of the Grady and Garvin county line west of Dibble, just south of highway 39.

S/2 SE/4 SE/4 20 acres
SW/4,SE/4 40 acres
S/2,NW/4,SE/4 20 acres
SW/4,NE/4,SE/4 10 acres
NW/4,SE/4,SE/4 10 acres
W/2 SE/4 80

So this would be 180 acres gross. However, don't get too excited. Most of the time you would only have a small percentage of this. That looks like some of the original tract descriptions. Likely it has been passed down from generation to generation, splitting it for the number of kids they had. In Oklahoma it likely has passed through at least 3 generations. So if the first family had 7 kids, 1/7. The next had 2 kids 1/2 or 1/7. The next had 2 kids. 1/2 of 1/2 of 1/7 or 1/28 undivided portion of the description you provided. Then it would be about 6.42 Net mineral acres. You would have to have a quite a bit more data to know the NMA

What doe'sNMA stand for? I am new at this. Some land guy got in touch with me here while back and was wanting to buy my mineral rights,he offered very little for them.I told him that i was not interested in selling them.Thats how i found out about this.DO i need to put these royalties in my name, and if so how do i do that.

NMA is Net Mineral Acres, the amount you would actually own. The NMA I posted above was just an example. You could have more or less depending on the way it was handed down.

If you are not being paid on a well currently, then you do need to start finding out how to get it "in your name".

I'm not sure I can tell you the best path. It could involve an attorney and some research. It might be as simple as filing an Affidavit of Heirship, but could prove to be very complex.

Take a look at the names at the end of each of these applications and see if you recognize any of them.

my moms and my aunts name and my cousins name is in the OCC3734058 case files. My cousin was listed as respondants who can be dismissed. My moms was under unknown address, and so was my aunts. They are both passed away. My moms mother left a will and it states that my mom got 1/4 royalties and her sister got 1/4 and her brother got 1/4 but they are all deceased.I am pretty sure the royalties are in moms name. Where do i go from here.
