We have a mineral rights trust in Sheridan County, Montana with 1280 net acers and signed a lease last year. Would it be a good move to hire someone to manage the mineral rights as far as promoting drilling and production? If so who would be a good group to hire? Thanks for any advice.
Dear Mr. Poulsen,
When you signed the lease, there is not much management to be done, other than to monitor drilling activity and to make certain the lease is released of record at expiration. There is moderate work to be done with unit formation and verifying division orders and pay stubs and the like.
It's my opinion that much of the management comes into play prior to leasing.
