I have the legal description for my mineral rights. How can I find the physical location of the mineral rights? Any help would be appreciated.
If you post the section, township and range, we can help you find it. You can use the OCC well finder, but it is not that friendly.

Open to this screen. Use the + sign in the upper left to zoom in to your area. The arrow on the left will let you move the map. Carter is in the far south. One countynorth of the Red River.
Zoom in until you start to see the township and range numbers. Be patient, it can take a few seconds. It is useful to pause for a moment and see what is going on regionally. Where are the trends; where are current wells,
Then zoom in closer to your township and range. 3S-1W Section 18. It has no wells at this time.
What it does not show is that there seems to be a blooming leasing play in that township. Several companies are in there leasing. Your section does not have filed leases yet, but the section to your north does. Lease royalties range from 3/16ths to 1/4. Most of us would want that higher royalty. I suspect Continental Resources may be the ultimate operator. They have filed for a horizontal well in sec 15 in July 2025.
