I have a question if you know of a certain law, here is the jist,“” there was a law in place in Texas that benefited the original family members mineral right holders that was apparently changed in 1963 or 1964. Not sure of the details of this law but have been told through the grapevine that original family members that still own their mineral rights have additional benefits because of being grandfathered into the old law. Does anybody have any information to share? thank you.

I read a number a case law decisions some involving leases and ownerships dating back to as early as the 20s. I have never seen a discussion concerning any law changes such as you described. Had there bern one, it certainily would have been an issue that would have been addressed in the court decisions.
