Mineral rights in residential Bakersfield

We inherited a fractional share of mineral rights to a small lot (80’ x 160’) of property in a residential neighborhood of Bakersfield, just off the 178. As far as I’m aware there’s no active oil production within a few miles of the location.

Seems we’ll need to either transfer the rights from the estate to us, or sell the rights - but just curious if there’s actually any value, or any potential interested buyers for this type of rights. Thoughts?

Non-producing minerals don’t have much value. Off 178 might have futur0e value. If not too onerous, I suggest transferring and keeping them.
