Mineral Rights in Converse County

Hi all!

I am helping my grandmother out with some mineral deeds that she has. They came from her mother who has recently passed away. I am looking for any information AT ALL that would help me understand pretty much anything about it. Her mineral rights are located in Townships 32 and 33. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks so much!

I would start with looking on the Wyoming Oil and Gas Website. http://wogcc.state.wy.us/

Start with Double Clicking on the "MAP" Link very top just to the right of center. Also look at the "approvals" for proposed drilling and drilled wells. From there just look thru the other various links. Do you know if it is under a current lease?

If not, I know that there is a lot of leasing going on in that area.

Good Luck,

Bill

Once the map loads, just double clicking in the Converse County area and it will zoom in. Keep on zooming in. Once you start seeing the ranges & Townships, you can click & drag to the appropriate township.

Thanks for such a quick reply! I am not sure if there is an active lease or not. The ownership was a little murky a few years ago, and I think someone started it but didn't have the mineral rights to it. I'm not sure how that works but I did look at approvals and it looks like there are some in the same section, township and range where some of the mineral rights are... How do you recommend I proceed? I am sure my grandmother will want to lease the mineral rights.
