Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some insight from those familiar with activity in McKenzie County, ND.

I recently leased mineral interests covering approximately 158 net mineral acres in the following areas:

• Township 148N, Range 104W (Sections 1 & 2)

• Township 149N, Range 103W (Section 33)

Does anyone have knowledge of recent or planned drilling activity in or near these sections, or insight into whether development may be imminent?

Also, I’d be interested in hearing what others are seeing in terms of current market ranges—what would be considered a strong bonus per net mineral acre and a reasonable royalty percentage in this area?

I appreciate any information on operator activity, permits, or general trends nearby.

If you are familiar with the ND Oil & Gas website, that will provide a lot of great information to you. On this site you can find ‘daily activity reports’ and look for your township/section, plus there’s Hearing Dockets where you can also search. And the GIS Map server can zoom in on your area and show you what is out there, if anything. It still amazes me that there is/was still land to be leased, but I guess the companies know where they want to go. Good for you. As far as leasing bonuses/pricing, it’s been so long for us that nothing I know would be helpful.
