I recently found a Mineral Deed in some old papers. After researching through different forums and websites, I discovered that several of my cousins in the last 12 months have signed Oil and Gas Leases on the property. Is it wise to contact the Leasing Company and inquire about this lease?
Joe, if you're close to your cousins you might contact them first to ask what terms they were offered, and what they accepted. Otherwise, if you have evidence that you have an interest, by all means contact the Leasing company. If they've run title they may already know of your interest. However, they may show it in the name of your parent, or grandparent... . Good Luck.
