That area is very large. Please give a specific section, township and range for a more accurate answer.
The future is quite long. That area of the Anadarko Basin is where very deep gas deposits are. Until such time as there is a stable natural gas market, it is doubtful there will be much exploration. There are several small shallower oil & gas fields so answering M_Barnes question will help with more information in that regards.
