Mineral acres in Lea County NM

How do I find a landman to help with leasing of 320 acres in Lea County NM. I’m not having any success contacting oil companies and operators. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Susan

Where is your property? The geology will have a big role in what you are able to do.

Your section is getting a good bit of leasing within the last 24 months. Make sure that your name and address are properly filed in the county courthouse. Do you know your net acres? If you are going off of an old lease, the leases use gross acreage.

Several agents are in there. MRC Permian has filed the most leases so far. I am thinking Matador will be the operator since they have permits filed in 11/14/23 just to the west.

I have a mineral acre interest in Township 14 South, Range 38 East, N.M.P.M. Section 26: SW/4 & lots lots 3 & 4 East of Lovington, NM. It’s been unleased for the last 4-5 years. It was leased for several years under two leases prior to that without any production. I think there was a dry hole plugged nearby sometime back and a producing well that had the pump jack pulled not long ago. Don’t know how to look up what activity such as depths and volumes nearby in recent years. Curious if any deep wells have been drilled nearby and volumes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are some sections just to the north of you that have seen new leasing and some new horizontal permits.

Thanks! Always appreciate you input!
