Hello, I found my great great grandfathers miners placement claim from 1921 (New Mexico). Can anyone tell me what exactly a “miners placement claim” is & should I look into it? It is certified and original.
My best guess would be that it would be for placer mining. Placer mining is mining on stream beds (alluvial mining). Placer mining is always hard mineral mining.
This website is primarily geared towards the wellbore method of mining, generally for hydrocarbons.
