Mercer County, ND - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

We own the mineral rights to E1/2 of Section 1 Township 146N of Range 85W of the 5 th P.M. I’ve gone out and looked at the GIS map and have found the current oil fields and rigs overlay. Thanks!

But I am curious to know if there is any way to develop trend analysis and figure out if the oil companies will move east and south of Lake Sakakawea in Mercer County?

Any ideas?

Thanks!!!

Jim: what a great idea to develop a trend analysis re: oil company movement. So far, all is quiet on our section: both coal and oil.

My cousin visited our section of Mercer in June (section described in earlier thread), but the coal area; mined by Coyote. 80% of coal dug there used right at Coyote plant for electricity and 20% shipped to Bismark. Coyote is active mine. Our section is slightly beyond the active coal crane but we have a signed lease until 2014. Coal is not as glamorous as oil but can be revenue producing for sure.
