I’ve been contacted by Membourne regarding Minerals under well name of Beaverdam 13/16 OO Fee Com 1 H, a multi_unit horizontal well in the Cherokee formation total depth of 28,680’.

Question: Does the Cherokee formation even exist at that depth.?

That depth is a measured depth for the lengths of the horizontal well, so along the borehole and not all the way straight down.

Think of a bendy straw. The short part of the straw goes almost straight down, then it takes about a quarter mile to make the turn to horizontal. Then the long part of the bendy straw is in the zone of interest. In this case, that would be the Cherokee.
