Martin county Cad question

Hello all. Just had a quick question. I have been researching some parcels I inherited. But 2 of the parcels in the Martin Cad have the same acreage but different decimal interest percentages? What does that mean? Also, there are 2 parcels listed as 0 acres with decimal percentages? Thanks.

Producing mineral interests are taxed as separate parcels from surface. Each well/unit will also be its own parcel. Producing mineral interests are generally reported with only the NRI - what you own in the well. It sounds like you own in two different wells/units. I would need more information to tell you exactly what is happening for your accounts.

Sounds like it could be a couple of horizontals crossing through the same tract. Each horizontal is usually taxed separately in Martin County unless the operator reports the information to the CAD as a unit. If you own inside the city limits, this is very likely the case. There may also be wells that you are held in suspense on that aren’t showing up on the CAD. If you can share Block and Section information, we can search the RRC map and see what you’ve got.

Thanks guys, I believe there are different wells running through there. The address is NE/4NE/4 Section 22 Block 36 Township 1S Abstract 499. I have talked to oil and gas lawyers to help with this. It’s only a small percentage, but back pay royalties are worth me and my sibling getting a lawyer to help. My father passed away in 1999. But if you guys can give me any info like number of wells and permits in that area, be awesome. Thanks, lawDawg
