Looking for Good Honest Leasing Company Recommendations

We are in the final stages of getting our leases back from the
disreputable man/company who leased them. The ND Attorney General
contacted him, and he admitted what he had done and is not contesting
the release of our titles/leases. Should be a done deal by tomorrow.
Now we are looking to see who of the reputable established companies
will give us the best offer. We have one who is interested, but
obviously we would like to see if we can get other offers to compare.
We also know that Hess, Continental, Lone Tree, and Norther Oil and
Gas are the main ones who have leased right around the two sections
containing our MR acres. Any suggestions? Our MR acres are in Burke
County, 24-161N-94W and 23-161N-93W.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Dear Ms. Brill,

There is no good answer to your question. When leases are assigned, in whole or in part, you generally have no control who will ultimately end up operating your lease.

The best way that you can protect yourself is with an air tight lease.

As to operational issues, again the lease form that protects you is your best friend if things go south.

Congratulations on getting your lease released.

Thank you! We have one company interested already who has done business with Slawson before, and then we are also talking with Hess, Continental, and Northern Oil & Gas, as well as a copule of others. Hopefully this will be resolved and we will have them re-leased soon!

We have a very good and reputable attorney and will be handling these things differently this time around as far as payment is concerned. Our attorney will hold our signed leases until payment has been received by each of us and is in our bank accounts, at which time he will forward the leases on to the company who is leasing our MR's. We have one company interested already who has done business with Slawson before, and then we are also talking with Hess, Continental, and Northern Oil & Gas, as well as a copule of others. Hopefully this will be resolved and we will have them re-leased soon!

Hi Sandy,

With so many land companies looking at your minerals you should be able to hold out for a very lucrative offer. Haste makes waste. Just tell each one when they call that the other guy has offered more than he is offering. Never lie. It will catch up to you in a hurry. It's not personal, it's business. Have a great day.

Yours,

Wes Luke
