I am still looking for someone in Ward County to represent me at the appraisal district hearing in mid July. The county has increased my valuation nearly 300% when the actual production has decreased over 10% in the last year.
Does anyone here do that or know someone who does?
I don’t know who represents royalty owners in tax protest hearings. The counties hire a third party to determine the value of the oil and gas in the ground and they use some formula based upon that to tax royalty owners.
I once went before the appraisal board and protested the amount assessed on my royalty interest, but was unsuccessful. You have nothing to lose by trying. I hope you are getting good royalty payments!
