Like most of you, from time-to-time I have been getting unsolicited offers to buy our interests. These offers seem to be from brokers who intend to re-sell the interests. There are several parcels in Williams and McKenzie Counties that involve five different operators (and one in Ward County that is unleased in a non-producing area).
While we aren’t inclined to sell, I’d like to increase my knowledge in order to make the most informed decision possible. For those of you who have looked at selling or who have sold, have you accepted an unsolicited offer, sold back to the operator, sold through a broker that you retained to work on your behalf or auctioned the interests? Other sales method?
If we sell, I’d like to sell all our interests in a bulk sale. Has anyone had any experience doing that?
Any recommendations and information on how to get the best deal is welcome.
