Lone Star Energy Partners

Things finally got moving in this old Alabama Ferry Field. The RRC is about to file these well as wells and start plugging some. The injection station on our property will be totally clean up with everything gone in September when budget money is available. I had Lone Star Energy contact me about releasing our minerals under a few wells in the field they want to try to produce. They aren’t interested in the deep gas so they will not lease anything under the Glen Rose D or above it. I have more research to do on this company before I consider anything from them. The best news is our minerals are back with all landowners that has minerals. It only took 10 years of complaining about this field to the RRC and several oil spills. The next contract I sign sure want be like my parents signed in the early 1980’s.

Good news! If you are able to lease again, it would be wise to get a good oil and gas attorney to help with the language on this round. They will be able to edit the draft from the offering group to be more advantageous to your needs.

Hey AK, I hope you do not get your hopes up too much about the Texas RRC doing anything. It’s infested with DEI employee’s.

Do not blame the RRC employees who have no power to enact rules and are overridden by the Commissioners. The failure to order long-term nonproducing wells to be plugged comes down from the top. Commissioners are focused on number of new wells, not the high cost and adverse financial consequences to Texas budget for these abandoned wells. They could change RRC rules to require wells to be plugged instead of allowing transfers to companies without any financial resources. At this time, RRC is plugging wells based on priority for desperate situations, such as massive well pressure build-up or pollution after literally decades of being shut-in or temporarily abandoned. Over the years, Texas agencies, courts and legislation have become increasingly anti-mineral owner.

Where does the “buck stop”?

Sorry been out of town on vacation. I did do some research on this company and it some Shell energy that broke off to start their on company. The guy that contacted me worked for another company that brought interest in this field. Him I and talked a good bit about what the company he was working for then and about this field. He wasn’t to up with the company and was working there until something better came up. He did say the field has potential with new to get the oil. Horizontal drilling in the new style of fracking can retrieve the oil. He believes it’s probably several million barrels of oil still in the ground. I believe if and that a big if I sign a lease with this company it will be on my terms. I am not in a position I need the money but if the contract good something could come from it.
