Logan County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Mineral Joe,

I don’t have the names anymore. I was getting 8 letters a week with offers when a well was being drilled, so I just throw all the letters. Sorry.

I remember they started out at $1500 and then $2000 and the last offers were $2500 after the well had came in.

How much will the new Dir of Interior have to play in this? She is an avid outdoors-person, and boasts of it (Justifiably) and also boasts of our dependency on foreign oil dropping significantly. The new plan, according to a few insiders, point out that if we knew all of everything that is going on inNCentral Oklahoma and SCentral Kansas, reveals that the Obama administration is taking the well meaning advice of Sara Palen, and today it has become DRILL BABY DRILL. But I serously doubt that we will actually hear it from either O)bama’s or Sally’s lips in words we can believe in. Politics at its best. LOL We have over 3,900 miles to the center of Earth under our nation, and we just do not know for certain, what lies for diswcovery even a dozen miles or so. New stuff to get whatever it is, is being manufactured this very day.

Tnx, Virginia, I would rather be a big dreamer than Ted Turner at his beswt. Anyone recall a movie called TULSA - Susan Hayward? I saw it a few months ago. The first 10 minutes tell a lot about the oil industry revolvment, both good and bad, and real and pretend. At about 8 minutes in, the first lawyer of the movie said simply…“Forget it…” For an old movie, it was pretty good for Hollywood. But mostly pretend.

Harley You see that a lot with Horizontal wells. I have an interest where the well site is in one section an is drilled under the next two sections. They call it a Multiunit Horizontal . That is a two mile horizontal.

Assume a well is drilled in the Southwest corner of a 640 acre Section A and turns South ending about a mile away at the far Southwest corner of Section B, also 640 acres:

Given the distance for the turn to horizontal [basically under the road], should one assume that royalty revenue acrues only to leaseholders in Section B.?

Virginia, I think the direction is important but cant remember where I read it. Mississippian is one direction and Woodford is the other.

Notice in 8,17N,3W. There are three wells permitted. One is a disposal. One is API 08324031running East/West [Spudded on 11/26/12, ].

The other API 08324047 is projected to run diagonally.[Spudded on 1/13/12]

11/26/12 plus 70 days is day before yesterday… hmmm . This one is just across the road to the West from me in 9 17N 3W.

Osage is estimating 70 days from spud to completion by the way per their web site.

Ron,

Are we down to 10 acre chunks or 40? I am a librarian. Give me a break!

Virginia you are right on the 640 spacing. The payment is paid to each section base on the % of lateral under the two pooled section that were put together to make the multiunit. I don’t know on the last question. I am also not sure what you meant whenyou were talking about going in two different directions.

2 1/2 - 160 down to 40 down to 10 down to 2 1/2

Virginia,

Both spudded wells in 8 17N 3W are from the same pad. Both permits show Mississippian and Woodford, so no help there. Let us watch for completion and production. Hooray! I may pitch a tent across the road at the old Bryan No 1 site in 9 17N 3W and read a book from the gas flare waiting for manna to fall from Heavan. lol

My Uncle was Harley Bryan. He also gave me his 1955 Buick to drive to Infantry Officer training in 1965.

correction, Stephen’s Production is 7-17N-3W

Marlo and Virginia,

What are the names and contact information of these buyers offering $2500 per acre? I know a lot of people that would want to sell for that price.

SW 1/4 of SE 1/4 of SE1/4 of SW1/4

Harley,

Thank you. I couldn’t remember which way what sand/shale, etc. ran. I have seen pads that have 4 wells and I think they are probably going different direction.

I understand from reading a little from books and a lot from the internet: [you know that everything on the internet must be true] that when a tight formation is fracked that the fractures only go out maybe a 100 feet from the perforated section of the horizontal pipe. If this is true then theoretically production wells could be drilled horizontally just 200 feet apart and parallel to each other and each would drain a 200 foot diameter tube like volume of the formation. Also, if the formation was 400 foot thick and you punched your horizontal 100 feet from the bottom of the formation you could drill or redrill from the same vertical well another horizontal parallel to the first and 200 feet above it. Mother earth did lay down those formations like a deck of cards didn’t she?

the bull dozier coming out ,nextn week 17n-3w,s20

So does this begin or end something?

20 17n 3w///location s/well site ,work

can someone verbalize this Spot Location:

SW SE SE SW

i.e., Southwest ___ of Southeast ____ of Southeast _____ of Southwest ______

Thanks on the Section B. Also thanks on the verbalization. I am ultra dense.

I still cannot quite figure out where the Spot is. I am certain it is way South, but still working on East or West. I am thinking way West. Right??

The last SW 1/4 is the 160 and you work back from that.
