Logan County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

Virginia,

That’s exactly what my mother says all the time, she’s glad she won’t be around for it.

I heard Davis Farms made 1400 barrels/day! Why pull out of the county now?

So I contacted someone who was recommended on this forum and he said he was no longer leasing in Logan County as it wasn’t a focus for them anymore. I couldn’t get much for specifics, but has anyone heard of anyone else pulling out?

Does anyone know what companies are pulling out of Logan County? I heard that the leases were getting too expensive and until they went down, they were moving on.

This happened in DFW, Texas. We were getting as much as $25,000 per acre with 25%+, the next thing we knew they were gone and you couldn’t give a lease away.

I hope this isn’t what is happening in Logan County.

Osage Exploration, Sundance Energy and Devon are the bigger players in the region I believe. Obviously Devon trumps them all, but Osage and Sundance have big projects considering their company size (mainly talking about Osage here, as Sundance Energy is a $240 million company).

Osage’s Logan County acreage makes up the majority of their market value.

In 19N-2W there were to be 7 pooling hearings in Oct. and there have been filings for 8 spacings that I found. 19N-3W has four Oct. hearings. A lot of spacings filed for.

Yep, the word out is that they are all pulling out and going North!

The owner of Sand Stone RV park at Mulhall said that Cactus drilling has bunk houses for three rigs and H&P drilling are bringing two. Both said he needs to add more spots as more rigs are moving to that area when contracts are completed in other areas. Some rigs may move away as needed to drill on acreage before leases expire. Probably not many leases close to expiring in this area. Rigs of the size needed to drill these H wells are in short supply and high demand. Sundance is even using the little Dan D rigs just to get a rig. They can get the job done but risky as they can’t pull much.

Kaye,

All the companies aren’t going north. Devon and Crown are still doing some drilling in the area and I’m not sure who else.

Looks like Continental may be pulling out of the area, not sure.

Does anyone know for sure what companies are pulling out of the area or not leasing anymore?

Anyone dealt with Stephens Oil or Stephens Exploration in Logan County recently? Trying to get some info on them.

Does anyone know who is leasing/drilling in Section 33 of Logan?

Need to know Township and Range.

devon is drilling well very far south in logan cty 15n 2w

Branon Land Services, according to public records, has filed some leases for Township 33, Range 17N, Range 2W. According to the OCC website, there are no current applications for the process of drilling in Township 17N, Range 2W.

Brannon offered a lease of $450/acre plus 3/16 about 2 months ago and then another company Osage offered me more, $600/acre plus 3/16.

While I waited to decide (1 month), both companies withdrew their offers and said they are no longer leasing in that area.

Chris, what section do you own in?

Greetings! We have been approached by TodCo O&G. Has anyone had dealings with this company?
