Logan County, OK - Oil & Gas Discussion archives

pessimist,dont drill wells

Dumb question time… I do not notice any gas lare in the photo??? Is it going to the kitchen cook stove and flared there? Or is it another location, or certain hours? Je ne comprends pas. What is the reason for gas flare, anyway? Mad Mary Sudik 1 blew out over 200 million cubic feet of gas near Oklahoma City before it was capped on the third attempt. Why was she not flared? How much money was that at todays gas prices of $3.68?

Good luck Michael, looks to me like you would be in great demand.

Well here is what the Royalty calculater Emailed to me just now, quite obviously** put some wrong numbers in somewhere, it was for 200 million cu feet of gas gone with the wind when the
ad Mary Cubik well in Oklahoma City blew her stack and they lost it all, and what it would have been at todays market prices. But** got something wrong, LOL

Your monthly revenue estimate is $117593750 per month, based upon the following variables:

Size of Your Property: 160 acres

Size of entire Production Unit: 640 acres

Percentage of mineral ownership within your property: 100%

Royalty percentage from your Oil or Gas Lease: 125%

Your decimal interest is: 0.31250000%

Don’t we wish this would hold up?

I am looking for employment in the oil and gas industry. I have experience as a production clerk and a pumper. would like okc area. I don’t drink or use drugs, very dependable and easy to get along with. Michael carey 405-293-9468

I’m new to the forum and was wondering if anyone had any info re 9-19N-3W? I don’t live in state, so it’s difficult for me to keep up on this.

thanks

Tracy, you can look up information at this website.

In the Legal Location, you need to enter 0919N03W to pull up the activity. Keep in mind there is a delay in the forms being filed, scanned and uploaded to this Oklahoma Corporation Commission website.

Tracy, it looks like a permit was issued in July 2013.

Vern, thanks for the quick response. Have they started drilling yet? Is there somewhere I can find that info?

I have a question for the group. I have noticed on my neighbors well the Addkison that it has turned into a permanent trailor park for RVs. While I can understand some necessity for 24 monitoring for well work, a lot of the time there does not seem to be any reason for the campers other than other well activity in the area. I am wondering if Devon or the drilling companies are taking advantage of the surface lease to save money due to lack of space available or no space available for RVs in the local RV parks. My position will be that no “campers,” will be allowed on my land without specific necessity to the production of the wells on that location.

The question is are any other land owners seeing the same thing?

It is also my position that the use of land for RVs should by on individual circumstances, and negotiated aforehand whith those in control of drilling and producing activities. Nothing comes free today, and when it gets to the point that there are a lot more than should be there, and there are weenie roasts going on, all over the place, it would appear that some discussion would be in order. It is further my opinion that landowners appear to be the biggest losers no matter if it is a great well or a dud. It appears that Logan County is being used up physically at an alarming rate, and few seem to care too much about it.

Harley,

They set an intermediate string of 8 3/4" casing first to 6300’. They cement the annulus outside of it and test its competence. Then they set a 4 1/2" production liner inside of that from 5958’ to 11070’. They cement this in place and test it. This is in the horizontal part of the hole. (which you can tell from the survey-compare the MD (measured depth) to the TVD (true vertical depth)). They will perf and frac next, so that is why there is no completion report. They may have actually finished that part, but have not submitted it yet. Those reports sometimes lag a bit due to all sorts of reasons.

Very interesting stuff, Barnes and Harley. There appeared an article on Huffington Post just today, supporting my beliefe I discussed only last week, about Logan County being part of exploration spearheading the way to as yet unknown energy sources right under our feet, that could power our world for years. The title of this article is Ocean Eddies Act like Watery Black Holes, New Research Shows. I think Logan County is being studied by many, many scientists today who will have marveling revalations very shortly.

Can someone explain why Stephens would “cement”, Form 1000C, the Blevins 2-18-7H. They also filed a Survey at the same time. No completion report has been filed. This well has API 08324123.

Somebody posted about a program that was presented at a landman conference that can map wells on Google Maps. Cost $50 I think. Can whomever posted that, please do so again? I can’t seem to find it.

I never do this quite right. I am wondering if Shell leaving Kansas has any effect on what is happening in Logan? Hope the article loads correctly.

Debbie looks like to me that this is Shell’s interests in Kansas and mostly none are south of Wichita, but north allah the way to Rice, County, Lyons and Sterling and there abouts. I knew some epople in Lyons who had nat gas producing wells in and around Lyons 30 years agol. Last I knew they were still producing. But my sourses are telling me that Logan is still the hot spot for both the Misspn and woodford plays. Last I knew it is still pretty hot into Kansas towards Ark City, my own birthplace, and I was wondering, if you have any kinfolk there? My Grandfather was John Robert Wright, career conductor for the Santa Fe, hubby of Violet Shafer Wright.

I have heard 45-90 days, and seen a figure of 101 days is the nor for being paid. Oklahoma law gives them up to 6 months or they can (can) be fined and pay interest, if they can find out for certain who caused the delay and the reason(s). I have heard this is why the low figures are reported usually in the 80 bbd amount, so if they have to pay inteest it is on a low figure. Makes sense to me but unable to verify this. My guess they will pay as quickly and correctly as they can, it is to their advantage to do so.

Type of interest – (e.g. royalty interest, mineral interest, or working interest)

This will be spelled out on the Division order according to my sources. I know that a working interest is someone who has helped pay for the drilling. It is unclear to me right now if they are paid the same as, less than, or more than the Royalty or Mineral Interest. If the mineral owner signs to unknowingly help pay for the drilling, should they be paid more than those who did not pay any part of the drilling? I do not know yet.
