Locating Mineral Property Operators

I am assisting a Trustee locating and unraveling an unattended portfolio of mineral properties. We are making progress locating the properties but need guidance to locate the operators. The properties are primarily in Texas and Louisiana. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the community!

In Texas, the Tax Assessor’s office will usually list the operator on the tax records near the well information. Sometimes this information is incorrect and you have to contact the old operator to find out that they have sold the assets to someone new in between the time the taxes were last paid and the decks were sent to the assessor the next year.
