Hi all,
I am going to list my royalty rights on royaltybids.com
As far as I can tell this is a service that will help me out.
They say there is no obligation to sell until I am ready, and I get the benefit of having multiple buyers make offers.
Has anyone used them before? Any feedback from past users is appreciated.
Best!
What drew you to that site?
I have no experience with that one. But by looking at it, I think www.energynet.com would be a better choice.
Royaltybids has 13 listing nationwide. EnergyNet has 19 Texas properties closing Thursday alone.
Thanks Rick,
What draws me to Royaltybids is the fact That they don’t charge me (the seller) a fee.
I knew of energynet from other posts on this forum and I researched them but they charge me like 10% of the sale. Plus I think there’s is a obligation to sell with them, more like an auction.
Thanks again for chiming in!
You are right, it is an auction site. There is a reserve, but a listing fee would apply. In my opinion, sales there far exceed any offers out there. Most require exclusive listings.
Royaltybids charges the seller 14%. So as a buyer, I would bid accordingly.
Good luck with your sale, regardless of the route you choose.
Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. So many options. Ahhhh!
Thanks Charles! I do get letters from time to time. I just want to be sure I get the highest offer. Well, as sure as I can be. Let me explore that market place some more.
Sara:
Where are these minerals located?
Johnson county Texas, near Fort Worth.
Sara,
As Rick correctly mentioned, they are charging a 14% rate to the buyers. Whether you call this a "buyer fee" Or "seller fee" the truth of the matter is that they are taking 14% out of the transaction so that's the true cost to you even if they don't phrase is that way.
I would also mention that if you're not in a rush you don't need to go with an Auction format. Again as Rick mentioned, the "New Market Place" link above in Red is a great place to go and list your property completely free to get some exposure.
Our company, US Mineral Exchange, charges 5.9% at the highest rate down to 2.9% depending on the final sales price of your property so take that into consideration when considering your options and what people are charging. Promo code FALL2013 will allow you to list for free on our website as well.
Energynet is also a very good option if you absolutely must have a fast sale, just take a close look at their commission schedule and listing fees for smaller properties if you go that route. As you shop around, just keep in mind that the fee the buyer pays just reduces the amount they can afford to pay you so it's coming out of the final amount paid to you whether it's paid by the seller or the buyer.
Hope that helps!
