Lincoln Parish, LA - Seismic Survey Going Rates

My family has property and mineral rights in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana and we have been approached to permit a seismic survey without a mineral lease in place. There are producing wells nearby and we had a lease no longer in effect with one hole that was drilled with no production. I would like to know what is the going rate for seismic surveys in our area and should we deny the permit until we get a lease signed. Thanks, Will

Will,

I wouldn’t deny the survey company permission to evaluate the minerals. A positive result may lead to future leasing, drilling, etc. If they do not like what they see, nothing changes.

Depending on the size of your land, they can survey around your property and get an idea of the geography of the area.

Do you know your section, Township, Range?
