Lifting the Oil Export Ban - Interesting Reading

Let's see how far this goes.

This will be interesting to watch indeed. That would put the U.S. in an even better position economically and even politically on the world stage. The only people who might oppose are those predisposed to Peak Oil theory (which I disagree but respect) or enviro fascists who look at all Oil as EVIIIIIILLLL.

Besides we need something besides a fiat currency to export to the world.

This does make a lot of sense in the case of Alaska. A large supply far from US markets but close to other international ones. Why should we only export refined product ? Let the end users be the ones to deal with the air problems from the refineries, and to put up the capital to build them. Be kinda nice to compete with all those folks who have been selling to us all this time at high prices.

The chinese want to build a steel plant in south Texas to utilize cheap natural gas. They plan to ship over iron ore brickettes and smelt them here. We all know what the smog problems in China are. This is environmental colonialism Gas from Alaska would change the profit margins for this sort of scheme

We need to secure the far eastern markets before the Wheatstone project comes to fruition. I would rather see them using Texas gas than Australian gas.

Yes, I remember the Kaiser Fontana plant made the air so thick we didn't know whether to breath it or shovel it.

If anyone can get around the EPA, it would be the Chinese. They sure know how to grease the wheels.
