I inherited 1/3 of oil land in Reeves County over 10 years ago from my step-dad. It took about six years for the judge to decide that I would get the royalties. That I have never understood. Now, around the first of this year, I partitioned for the other 2/3 since no one has come forth to claim during all this time. Have an attorney. He told me at the first of this year, it should be in my name before the end. We scheduled a Zoom meeting the end of April, which was cancelled by the person who holds the other 2/3 in receivership. Rescheduled for the end of August and was vacated. My question is, why was it vacated? My lawyer doesn’t know and the only thing I keep hearing is they have to figure out how much money is in the other 2/3. Since this has been vacated, is there a time limit to how long? I am an elderly person and would like to get this taken care of for legal reasons. Thaniks.
